Large Scene Capture with Dot3D

While there will always be some practical limits to how large you should go with handheld 3D scanning as a standalone tool, it is no longer a question of how large you can go. Dot3D has broken down all traditional barriers in terms of single scene size via intelligent memory management, compressed file sizes, rapid data processing, and more. There is no technical limit to how large of an area you can scan in a single Dot3D scan. We’re now seeing entire large homes, highway crash scenes, expansive building exteriors, long trenches, massive historical sites, and more, all captured in a single scan without limitation in Dot3D.

That being said, practical limitations still include battery life, stamina of the user, loop closure and other best practices that should always be kept in mind. Test yourself and your device, then push the limits!
